On Friday, January 15, 2010, Kaysville, Utah based Barnes Bank was shut down by the FDIC. These pictures were taken on the following day right after I returned home from teaching my ECON 2010 class at SLCC. The parking lot was full, and people were parked all around the block. The FDIC was limiting withdrawals to $500 per account and advising customers to move their accounts to other solvent institutions within the next thirty days. This was one of Utah's oldest banking institutions, and served Davis County residents for many generations.
