A federal judge in Florida hears the case filed by 26 states against the Healthcare law and declares it unconstitutional. It looks like it is bound for the Supreme Court.

Unconstitutional? What part of the constitution does it violate? We can either pay for people's medical care through government run health insurance or we can pay for it though are taxes. When people get hurt and are too poor to have insurance the tab goes to Old Uncle Sam either way we are having to pay for it. According to a PBS Documentary I saw on the national deficit many economist agree that the health care bill in the long run will lower the deficit because it will make people pay for health insurance.
ReplyDeleteI've heard different things about government run health care in other countries. In some countries I've heard it runs well and In other countries its a freakin nightmare. My only conclusion is that government run healthcare isn't Inherently good or bad, it depends on how its run.
ReplyDeleteLeave healthcare, like education, primarily to the states. Let the fed's concentrate on malpractice reform, insurance reform (not buttering up to the insurance companies with granting them the citizenry as a new customer base) and let fed's keep R&D going in healthcare innovation that at least competes with other nations and the pharmaceutical giants of the world. Imitate Singapore so there's less debate about whether we have the best healthcare in the world, including its accessibility. No more bankrupcies or deaths on top of a tragic but treatable diagnosis.
