The South Carolina state legislature is debating a bill that would allow continued production of incandescent light bulbs in spite of the federal law which phases them out beginning next year. Here is the article from The Daily Breeze.

My only question is, will the TSA confiscate these bulbs when discovered in my luggage leaving South Carolina? :)
"An incandescent bulb may burn for 750 to 2,500 hours, while a compact fluorescent can last up to 10,000 hours, according to the Energy Department."
ReplyDeleteEven though the fluorescent lights are more energy efficient I dislike the light it gives off. I'd go as far as to say that the light fluorescent bulbs gives off sometimes makes me want to throw up. They might be more energy efficient but at the cost of decreasing utility. How much energy would the nation save switching to Fluorescent bulbs? Would it be worth dealing with the crappy light?
